A sarsuela (traditional musical play) about the Philippine revolution against 300 years of Spanish colonial rule. Two lovers, Julia and
Tenyong, are torn apart by the call of the revolution. Believing that Tenyong has been killed during a fierce battle with Spanish forces, Julia is forced to accept the marriage proposal of a persistent and wealthy suitor, Miguel. Tenyong must choose between his love for Julia and his devotion to his country.
